Curriculum  토요학교 교과 과정 

Saturday School provides Bible Lessons, Choir, Korean language, and art. Through the various activities we  aim to promote Christian world views that  a public school may not offer, multi cultural and multilingual literacy education. A Scholarship may be available if the students receive free lunches at school, or their parents are ministers of a  small church or missionaries.  Please check the scholarship page.

토요학교는 성경, 합창, 한국어, 미술 수업으로 구성되어 있습니다. 지난 5년동안 있어왔던 나니아 연대기 영어 수업은 2017년 가을학기에는 제공되지 않습니다.  토요학교는 일반 공립학교에서 배우기 어려운 기독교 세계관 교육과, 다문화와 깊이 있는 문해교육을 지향하고 있습니다.  장학금 대상자는 다음과 같습니다. 학교에서 무료 급식을 받거나, 소규모 교회의 목회자 혹은 선교사의 자녀들입니다.  자세한 사항은 스칼러쉽 페이지를 참조하십시요. 


Grade: 1st through 6th Grade

Schedule:
1) Choir  (9 am to 9:50 am)
2) Bible  Lessons (9:50-10:20) Fall  2017 Topic: the Creation of God
3) Korean Language  (10:20-11:50)
4) Art (12:20-1:30) 

Dates: (10 sessions)  September 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, October. 14, 21, 28, November. 4, 11
 (Choir Performance: Dec 2 , 2017, 2:30 pm at the Court at Round Rock, a local senior center on Sunrise Road)

Tuition: 
Korean Language only (9 am to 11:50 am) $160 (If you register before July 26, 2017), $170 (If you register after July 27) 
Korean and Art (9 am to 1:30 pm) $250 (If you register before July 26, 2017), $260 (If you register after July 27) 


Korean Language 

Three or four levels of Korean language classes are available. The classes  1 to 4 below are designed for the children with Korean heritage.

(1) Korean  1 : Korean Alphabets and Phonics  한글의 자음자와 모음자의 짜임을 알고, 기본적인 낱말을 익히는 기초반입니다
(2) Korean 2  :  Basic Grammar and Words
한글의  문장과 기본 문법을 배우는 수업입니다
(3)  Korean 3 :  Learning various forms of sentences with Korean history
기본적인 문장력을  향상시키며, 한국 역사함께 배웁니다

(4)  Korean  4:  Korean literacy discussion, and logical writing.한국 문학작품을 이해, 토론하고 논리적인 글쓰기수업입니다


Korean Teachers: 
1) Kyong-Ae Ha, earned her B.A and M.A. in Elementary Education from Ewha Women's  University, and worked more than 12 years as a  teacher.
2) Yeonjai Rah,  the founder and director of BICA. She received her Ph.D. in Educational Policy and Leadership Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her research area has been focusing on immigrant child education and cultural diversity in school. 
3) Ji Hye Shin:  B.A. in Elementary Education from Seoul National University of Education, and six year experiences as a teacher in two public schools in Seoul.
4)  Soo Eun Lim:  Assistant Teacher, Internship. 


Choir: Music Education

We provide a  choral music education program, developing basic music literacy through fun and engaging activities and games. 
In the  Spring the children’s choir sings the American national anthem at Dell Diamond, and in the Fall they sing a concert with a Christmas theme at a local senior center. Our music education is sponsored by generous donors.

Music Teacher: 
Youree Chung (Music Teacher) received her BM (Cum Laude), Piano, from Seoul National University at S.Korea. MM, Piano Performance, UT-Austin.




Art Education
Art Teacher: Shelley Schreyer, Founder and director of Restoration Art Center (RAC) [http://www.mpaustin.org/rac]

Scope and sequence:To introduce various art mediums with inviting and challenging formats to encourage enthusiasm in creative expression. The projects are chosen with the end in mind of increasing art skill and exposure with the view that Art involves the whole person and reflects God’s creative character He has blessed us with.

Publicity and Photography Release

As a parent or legal guardian of the above named student, I hereby authorize and consent to the use of his/her visual image by Bridge International Christian Academy for appropriate purposes, including but not limited to: still photography, videotape, electronic and print publications, and websites. I give this consent with no claim for payment

Liability Waiver and Medical Release
This is a legally binding Consent Form and Release of Liability made voluntarily by me, the undersigned Releaser, on my own behalf, and on the behalf of my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives and assigns to Bridge International Christian Academy (hereinafter "BICA").   By the execution of this waiver of liability form, I acknowledge that the student listed above is capable of participating in the activities. I also assume all risks of the student participating in the activities, whether such risks are known or unknown to me at this time. I release and hold harmless this organization, leaders, volunteers, and any agents from any claim the student or I may have due to the result of any injury or illness incurred during participation in the BICA. I accept and assume full responsibility for any and all  injuries, damages, and losses that may occur to the student from any participation in the activities.  It is my understanding that the student participating in BICA is a privilege. I acknowledge that participation in these activities may inherent certain risks, including physical injury due to activity related accidents, illness, or even death. I also understand that there may be other risks due to these activities that I may not be aware of at this time.  In an emergency, I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for all medical and other costs arising out of bodily injury or any loss sustained through participation in this activity. I authorize program staff to secure any licensed hospital, physician and/or medical personnel for any treatment deemed necessary for the participant's immediate care.

 Pick-up Policy
I, as a parent or legal guardian of the above named student, agree to bring my child to school for classes and pick him/her up immediately at the end of classes. If I fail to pick up my child on time, I agree to pay possible late charges. Any family picking up a child beyond program ending time will be assessed $5.00 per child for the first 30 minutes late and $2.00 per 5 minutes thereafter, per event, as a late penalty.

 
  Participation Permission
I, as a parent or legal guardian of the above named student, agree that my child  has my permission to participate in the indoor/outdoor BICA activities.  Late tuition policy: An automatic late fee of $10.00 will be added to your child’s tuition account after the 1st session of each semester and should be included with your late tuition payment.

 Refund Policy

If you cancel with more than 30 days till the session start dates, the full refund will be given.
15-30 days until the session start date, 70 % refund   7-14 days until the session start date, 50% refund 6 days prior to start of the session start date, no refund.
